Bill and Frances Strain / Founders
Bill Strain and his wife, Fran, founded Strain Refrigeration, Inc., in Concord, VA, in 1975 and moved the business to its current location in Monroe in 2013.
Today, Billy, his brother James, and their uncle, David, continue in Bill’s spirit, providing the friendly, quality service that Bill would have expected.
Billy Strain / President
Billy began working in the family business at a young age with his father during summer breaks. After graduating from Lynchburg College and working in accounting, he came to Strain Refrigeration, Inc. in 1996. In addition to overseeing most aspects of the business, Billy manages our large commercial sales clients and our installation team. He and his crew travel the East Coast installing and remodeling freezer and refrigeration units for grocery chains, restaurants, and more.
Billy and his wife, Lisa, call Pittsylvania County home. He enjoys spending his free time catching big bass and playing golf.
David Strain / Vice President
David joined his brother, Bill, in 1975 as an active member of our service team. Today, he works closely with local businesses, quoting small commercial installations and remodeling jobs. He serves as a mentor to our next generation of service techs, troubleshooting and assisting with local calls when needed.
When he's not quoting walk-ins, David enjoys coaching youth basketball and collecting Batman comics. David lives in Bedford with his wife, Byrd.
James Strain / Vice President
After managing HVAC and general maintenance for a residential rental company, James joined his father, Bill, at Strain Refrigeration, Inc., in 1975. He manages our local commercial sales and service departments, serving local restaurants, medical facilities, orchards, convenience stores, and more. James also specializes in ice machines.
When he's not working, James enjoys fishing, hiking, and traveling with his wife, Chamanat. They live in Forest.
